This is a full-time, on-site hybrid position in New York City; M-F from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Salary Range:  $55,000 to $67,500 annual.


Who we are looking for:

The Design Assistant works closely with the Design Team to research, design, and develop products for based on market research and customer expectations. Partner with supporting Design/Merchandising teams for development utilizing our vertical supply chain and global sourcing capabilities.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience. 
  • Knowledge of apparel design and fabrics.
  • Excellent Illustrator skills, and proficient in Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of patternmaking and technical design.
  • Knowledge of textiles, 3D design and PLM systems a plus.
  • Experience with creating graphics is a plus.
  • Team player and problem solver.
  • Proactive self-starter.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
What you will do:
  • Assist in researching market trends and conduct basic market comparisons, helping to identify current and emerging trends that can be applied to customer needs. Participate in ongoing market assessments.
  • Collaborate with Design Team to support the creation of seasonal trend presentations by category. Assist in gathering proto samples, fabric selections, and market silhouettes, ensuring all components are accurately represented. Work with sales/merchandising and PD teams to understand overall strategy.
  • Support in sketching and style development, working alongside the Tech team for basic needs. Help maintain internal technical pages and linesheets as needed.
  • Assist in managing sample development across teams, helping to ensure samples meet expectations and deadlines. Work with cross-functional teams to help solve problems related to timing and cost.
  • Assist in tracking team’s adherence to project deadlines, supporting the team in managing time effectively and identifying any potential delays. Help provide solutions to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with peers to foster a positive team environment in the Design Department, contributing ideas and assisting where needed.
  • Support sample purchase management for owned categories, ensuring timely and accurate tracking of sample purchases for each season.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives in the product development area, suggesting ways to streamline efforts and improve cost-efficiency.
